All About Giving Circles

Starting and Running Better Giving Circles

What Do You Care About?

by Sharon

A couple weeks ago, I wrote a post about communicating your vision to your giving circle members. After thinking about it more, I think I didn’t place enough emphasis on communicating what you care about.

People want to feel. They want to feel that they matter and that they make a difference. They want to feel that they belong to a community. They want to feel like they are a part of something bigger than themselves. They want to feel hope and inspiration. Sometimes the way to help people feel those things is to help them feel pain and sadness about where they are/we are now.

Can your vision incorporate feelings of pain about the current state of affairs, inspiration for a better future, and the joy of doing it together? If so, I think you’ve got a solid gold message that will create a thriving, vibrant community of giving circle members who love being a part of your giving circle.
