Starting and Running Better Giving Circles

Weinberg Fellows Giving Circle Interview

by Sharon

The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Fellows Program offers a leadership development program for executive directors of agencies serving disadvantaged residents of Maryland. Graduates from that program can participate in the Fellows Program Giving Circle.

Shelly Terranova, co-chair of the Weinberg Fellows Giving Circle, and I talk about how graduates from each class are recruited from leadership and donations and how they enjoy giving away money as a change of pace from asking for it. I also enjoyed learning about their grant structure in which all the members vote but the final determination is made by the steering committee.
