When Jeff Lukacsena, a student at the University of Pittsburgh, contacted me for help on a paper he writing on giving circles, I agreed on one condition… That he would come back and share with us some of the highlights of his research.
He’ll share some things we already know… giving circles grow by word of mouth, they all operate differently, and because they are small and informal, they are hard to keep track of. He looks at some emerging trends and how giving circles meet an un-served need for minorities and small donors to get involved in philanthropy. Enjoy!
