Starting and Running Better Giving Circles

Staten Island Giving Circle

by Sharon

Staten Island is lucky to have Evelyn Kormenik. She is the founding member and guiding spirit of the Staten Island Giving Circle, and over the last 4 years, they’ve not only donated more than $60,000 but they’ve contributed countless hours in community service projects.

This is a great interview to learn about the raffle technique to raise donation dollars and to discover the scope of community service projects possible for a giving circle. Clothes, shoes, prom dresses, school lunches, birthday parties for children in homeless shelters, lending library… You name it, and they’ve probably done it.

The scope of Evelyn Kormenik’s commitment to her community is impressive, and she has been recognized by Cabbot Creamery as an outstanding and exceptional volunteer.
