Starting and Running Better Giving Circles

Rochester Women’s Giving Circle Interview

by Sharon

Co-Chairs of the Rochester Women’s Giving, Paula Carter and Shirley King, had so much great advice to share that our interview went a little long. But it’s worth listening to because of the great description they give of their grant cycle. Also, if you’ve ever struggled with how to say no to an organization or grant request, you’ll appreciate hearing their advice and how their emphasis on funding projects gives them a laser like focus to fund only the organizations they can fully support.

In four years, they’ve grown from 5 members to 80 members and donated over $250,000 to organizations in their community that help women and children achieve economic independence.
