Starting and Running Better Giving Circles

Asian Women Giving Circle Interview

by Sharon

I really enjoyed my conversation with Hali Lee, founder of the Asian Women Giving Circle in New York City.  She told me that their giving circle arose from a Korean kye.  A kye is similar to a giving circle but instead of money being donated outside the circle, it’s used by its members for mutual, and often financial, support.  Another interesting thing about their circle is the members don’t simply donate $2,500; instead they fund raise.

Enjoy this informative interview!
